Quiz-tastic!

The ever-popular monthly cricket & football club quiz night returns on Monday 7th July at the Kings. Drink beer, answer questions, raise some cash for the club. Well, let's face it - have you got anything better to be doing on a Monday night?

Hot Summer Nights

The next edition of the monthly cricket & football club quiz night is to take place on Monday 2nd June at the Kings. Come along to enjoy a balmy (or barmy? Ed) summer's night and raise some cash for the club into the bargain.

Upcoming Events, Soon and Not So Soon

Looking ahead into those balmy days of summer, the annual club bike ride has been arranged for Sunday 6 July, so dig your lycra out of the cupboard and hope that the weather is more favourable than last year. Always a good fund raising opportunity, the more the merrier, so let Sharpy know if you'll be part of the convoy.

Slightly further ahead, and some may say I'm wishing my life away here, the annual dinner is to take place on Saturday 29th November at Hamptworth Golf Club. This will follow the tried and tested format, so get the date in your diaries now and more news will follow at a more suitable time!

February Dates for Your Diaries

If you need an excuse to venture out at the start of the week on these dark and dreary winter nights, you could do a lot worse than the monthly sports clubs quiz night, held on the first Monday night of each month at the Kings. Details of the forthcoming dates are below:

Monday 4th February

Monday 5th March

The fun starts at 9pm, all proceeds to be shared between the cricket and football clubs.

More importantly, the club AGM takes place on the night of Monday 25th February, also at the Kings, with proceedings set to commence at 8pm, or as soon as we can drag ourselves away from the bar. Come and see democracy in action; this is your chance to have a say in how the club is run over the coming 12 months, so turn up and make your voices heard or you'll have no right to complain half way through the season!

What Next?

With another highly successful Annual Dinner having come and gone, it's time to kick on with the festive season. Come on down to the Kings on Monday 3rd December as the Christmas Fun Quiz takes place from 9(ish)pm onwards.

Find out just how many brain cells you lost as a result of Friday night at the golf club. Entry is Ł1 per person, and you can rope in as many (un)willing volunteers as you like as there are no restrictions on team size.

Prizes generously donated by mein host, and all proceeds are shared between the cricket and football clubs, so start the week as you mean to carry on and make Monday night a pub night!
