Annual General Meeting
It's admin time again, and the club's AGM, the annual opportunity for you to have a say in the direction and running of the club, as well as voting in the
committee members for the next 12 months, takes place on Monday 29 March at the Kings Head. Proceedings scheduled to start at 8pm,
or whenever enough people have arrived. Any apologies for absence to be sent to our glamorous secretary Sharpy.
Pots Mean Prizes!
The 2009 annual dinner, another entertaining evening held at Hamptworth Golf Club, saw the awarding of the usual array
of trophies for the plethora of worthy winners. The roll of honour for 2009, which saw promotion for the 1sts and consolidation
for the 2nds, reads as follows:
1st XI Player of the Year: Jimmy Hamblin
1st XI Batting Cup: Jimmy Hamblin
1st XI Bowling Cup: Jim Dovey
2nd XI Player of the Year: Paddy LeCount
2nd XI Batting Cup: Rich DaCosta
2nd XI Bowling Cup: Steve Jewell
Young Player of the Year: Paddy LeCount
Most Improved Player: Steve Jewell
Border League Player of the Year: Charlie Evans
Clubman of the Year: Nick Evans
Gerry Yeatman Trophy: Tim Drew
To bolster their already bulging trophy cabinets, Jim Dovey and Jazza also won their respective divisional bowling and batting
cups for their aggregate tallies of wickets and runs, so an extra "well done" to them on fine seasons. As if Sharpy needed reminding,
there was also the official presentation of the Doug Dugard Shield to Lord Harris, who almost single-handedly retained the trophy for Whiteparish
with a demoralising display of strokemaking against Sherfield. Congratulations to all the deserving award winners.
Club Dinner
Clear your diaries, dust off your party shoes and get your drinking trousers ironed - it's time for the annual club dinner!
When?: Saturday 28 November
Where?: Hamptworth Golf Club
What time?: 7 for 7.30
Cost?: £20 per person
So no excuses - you all know the score! Contact MC, Sharpy or any of the skippers to confirm your places and let's have another bumper night.

Heroes of 2008
The annual dinner, the usual retrospective of the season just finished, took place at the end of November with the stand out performers from the
year being rewarded for their efforts. The roll of honour for 2008, a good year for the 2nd XI and not quite so good for the 1sts, reads as follows:
1st XI Player of the Year: Glyn Turk
1st XI Batting Cup: Malcolm Noble
1st XI Bowling Cup: Charlie Evans
2nd XI Player of the Year: Josh Green
2nd XI Batting Cup: Mike Coulshed
2nd XI Bowling Cup: Sven Hocking
Young Player of the Year: Josh Green
Most Improved Player: Chris Crew
Border League Player of the Year: Sean Coulshed
Clubman of the Year: Richie Hamblin
Gerry Yeatman Trophy: Geoff Dear
In addition, Matt Metcalfe claimed the Border League divisional batting award for hammering attacks to all parts on Tuesday evenings, and the invaders from up
the road were repelled as Whiteparish claimed an unlikely win to capture the Doug Dugard Shield from Sherfield. Congratulations to all the deserving award winners.
