Hampton Park, May 14 '11 (home)

Following a good win from the first week, the seconds were in fine spirit for the game against Hampton Park. Previous encounters between the two teams have seen hotly contested matches with Hampton winning the last match in the last over.

Losing the toss again, Whiteparish were put into bat. The opening pair of Sean and Mike Coulshed was only short lived as the younger of the two was bowled for only one run. Bring on the collapse! Flailing bats and loose shots saw the Parish batting line up ripped to shreds. A solid performance from the off was seen by the cool head of Mike Coulshed (35*) yet nobody could form a lasting partnership with him until the end when last minute replacement Master Noisy, Harry Hocking strutted out to the middle. Facing the batting with ease the young man could not be beaten by the bowlers however, he was run out due to some poor backing up by MC.

All out for 74, the Parish players had only themselves to blame as the pitch was of fine quality. Although a little knocked back, the team were optimistic as ever and came out to bowl with nothing to lose.

The opening bowlers Jack Orr and Sven Hocking looked particularly dangerous from the first few overs and Jack (6-1-12-3) bowled the Hampton Park opener in the second over. Sven followed suit in his second as he bowled a double wicket maiden and went on to get a 5-wicket haul (10-3-29-5). They continued to tear through the Hampton batting order with ease and only a small scare at the end when C.Noakes hit 17. He, however, was triggered off a straight ball from Barney Orr who took two wickets on the day (4.3-1-11-2).

Another glorious yet an unlikely victory for the seconds! Hampton were sent home feeling dejected meanwhile the bellows of 'pots!' from Mr and Master Noisy could be heard all over Whiteparish.

Summary

Whiteparish II 74 all out (MC 35no)

Hampton Park 54 all out (Mr Noisy 5-29, Jack 3-12, Barney 2-11)
